Integration Vanta Customer API with Osano​

Connecting to Vanta​

In order for Osano to send privacy signals, we must connect to those providers via an API. Each provider you connect may require different information. Please see the linked vendor documentation for instructions on where and how to obtain this data.

Required Fields​

  • Client ID
  • Client Secret
  • Osano API Key
  • Control ID(s)

Step by step authenticating with Vanta.​

Creating your client id and secret​

  1. Log in to your Vanta dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Developer Console > Press + Create.
  3. Name your client (e.g., "Osano Integration") and give it a description. 4. Under App type, ensure you select Manage Vanta. 5. Press Create.
  4. Press Generate client secret.
  5. Note the Client ID and Client Secret.

Obtaining your Osano API Key​

Osano API keys may be generated within the Osano settings -> API Keys page. You must be an admin or have the correct privileges to generate an API key.

Control Ids​

The comma separated list of control IDs that the Osano Compliance document will attach to.

Control IDs are found on Vanta's Control page. It can be seen in the list view Vanta Control Id 2

or in the details page. Vanta Control Id

Please ensure the Control IDs are formatted as such: DCH-45, PRI-12, OSN-5, ...
